Description
Abraham Lincoln, candidate for U.S. president, three-quarter length portrait, before delivering his Cooper Union address in New York City_1860 by Matthew Brady. In late February 1860, in the midst of a cold and snowy winter, New York City received a visitor from Illinois who had, some thought, a remote chance of running for president on the ticket of the young Republican Party.
