what are the downsides to an XLR to RCA adapter this comes from Dan in Clarksville Indiana and ooh Clarksville Indiana Clarksville wasn't there a last train to Clarksville by the Monkees take the last train to Clarksville did it I wonder if that's the same place alright enough silliness hi Paul I have an excel Oh reference XLR cable that I use to connect my DAC to my preamp I use an XLR to RCA adapter at the preamp because the pre doesn't have a balanced input or outputs for that matter I'm moving to a new amp that will have both balanced and unbalanced inputs and I'd like to use a longer run of interconnect from the pre to the amps and want to use a balanced interconnect good because balance is better than single-ended what if anything am i losing by using an XLR to RCA adapter in either of these applications should I change the pre use an unbalanced run of interconnects inquiring mind
