well here's a throwback this is the Dell 1708 FP a monitor you've probably seen at a school or a library or really any place that bulk purchased Dell computers in 2019 this 1280 by 1024 75 Hertz display is almost totally unremarkable except for the fact that his response times are really bad for a TN panel something I'll come to a bit later on but still since I have it here I may as well run it through my testing procedures to see how it performs it's a good thing that CCFL back lights have finally disappeared because you have to wait several minutes after turning this thing on before it gets up to its proper brightness see CFLs also really limit the color gamut of the monitor something I'll cover in a moment that fluorescent backlight also causes the monitor to get quite hot especially at maximum brightness the anti-glare coating is typical TN fair not terrible not good but combined wi
