I just got hold of a new AV amplifier today and I thought it was a good opportunity to pass on a bit of a tip to people on the back of an AVM you get these things called binding posts these are designed for attaching your speaker wire to the idea is that you strip a bit of the cable off the end of the speaker wire and put it inside a binding post and then tighten it up but of course this means that the wire is permanently attached to your AV amp and therefore you can't really move things around very easily I prefer to attach my speaker cable using banana plugs but banana plugs won't go into binding pups unless you know the secret you have to get a paper clip and bend it so that you've got a nice hook on the end pop it into the middle of the binding post and you'll find that there's actually a plastic lug in there that just pulls straight out like that so then your banana plug is designe
