good afternoon this is ki5 jus steve i have got uh some new things i've learned on my radio on my yaesu 9 ft 991a so there's a couple of cool things i learned one of them is uh we're going to talk about is the digital noise reduction operation so this this is a function that's designed to reduce the background or ambient noise that's found on hf and 50 megahertz bands so the system is especially active during ssb uh so what i'm going to do is uh the dnr function i'll show you how to get to it is to press the fm list and you'll get this right here and what you'll want to do here is i've already got mine set but what you would do is you would come through and just page through these particular screens here and what you're looking for is a dnr digital noise reduction so what this does is this actually when you press this it will display a number now that number is also represented on this
