Today we're looking at planting the Bleeding Heart Plant it's now known as Laprocapnos spectabilis it used to be known as Dicentra spectobilus but it's still the same plant except there are three different varieties, there's the pink flowering form there's the white flowering form and there's also one that has much more red in it and you'll see examples of all of these later in the video as these plants come into flower. And laprocapnos spectabilis is a different plant to what is called the Pacific Bleeding Heart which is Dicentra formosa and these again are available in a range of colors similar flowers certainly not as spectacular, different foliage still very attractive and they do grow in similar conditions and this means a well-drained humus rich soil.
