I'm Prime from Iowa now we're gonna show you how to deal with a shielded wire and this plug it's gonna be the map but it could be any plug that utilizes a shielded wire a shielded wire is a signal wire that is protected from outside noise the reason that we do that is because sometimes other wires around it create electrical noise that could interfere with the signal wire that we really care about in this case the math so how they do this is they put a layer of mesh or a drain sometimes called a drain wire around the signal wire [Music] this wire that surrounds the inner wire is grounded which helps keep noise out this could also be seen sometimes it will look like this just depends on the wire and what they're trying to do so if this is the case this brown wire cannot touch the inside signal wire so when you go to repair this you must make sure that this wire does not touch the inside
