hello my name is Simon Brad well from ebm papst here in melbourne and today i'm going to talk to you about tangential or cross flow fans and I've got an example here in front of me this is a tangential duplex fan this means that it's got two impellers being driven by a single motor and you can see the motor in the middle there that's a shaded pole motor or OpenStack sea frame motor now tangential fans are often called cross flow fans because the air comes out across the whole width of the of the impeller so here is the input in this area here and here is the air output so air comes out across the whole of the length of this out open mouth here that towards you now the velocity of the air coming out of these fans is typically very low and the noise of this product is typically very low and therefore they're often used for domestic type applications but also the air volume that comes out
