hi and welcome to our video on replacing the CMOS battery in the HP Pavilion dv6 thousand laptop first thing we're going to do is remove the laptop battery and make sure the unit's unplugged and we're anti-static the CMOS battery actually sets underneath the cover here and I've zoomed in to remove it underneath the cover that covers the memory it's right next to the memory as a matter of fact there you see it in the bottom there and it's just kind of glued to the or double-sided tape to the system board and plugged in when you buy the replacement make sure you buy the correct replacement and you would just plug it back in and that's how you do it you would use this in case your date and time don't stay set or if you're trying to reset the BIOS in any particular for any particular reason not sure whether this will correct any or reset any user passwords on the BIOS but it's worth a try h
