hi welcome back the LGS microscopes my name is Paul and today I'm going to show you how to use a diopter the reason why some microscopes have a diopter is because sometimes our eyes are not both exactly the same as far as what you might call your glasses prescription might go so the doctor allows us to correct for that so that one I can focus a little little bit different from the other one but you perceive it as both being in focus at the same time let me show you how to do it on some microscopes you'll notice that one or both of the eye tubes has this knob and this moves the eyepiece in and out so what we want to do to start is we're going to look for this little dot right here or sometimes there'll be a ring that's exposed when you move this out far enough and then we've also got these hash marks all around the eye tube so what we want to do is line up this zero with that dot right t
