Speed bumps are a commonly used way to reduce the speed of vehicular traffic in parking lots and garages, residential housing complexes, schools, shopping centers, and industrial parks, to name a few. Resulting in a significantly decreased risk of automobile-related accidents, and keeping everyone on your property safe. There are two types of mounting hardware used to install speed bumps. Lag bolts, which are primarily used on concrete surfaces, and spikes, which are better suited for use on asphalt. Our parking lot is made of asphalt, and the ground underneath the installation point is mostly dirt and gravel, so in our case, all we’ll need are spikes, and a sledgehammer. In areas where the ground is rockier, you may need to drill pilot holes prior to installation.
