A: That's a misunderstanding. Yes, Dash Camera's power consumption is very low after car parked. But the capacity of Dash Camera's battery is also very low. Without power supply, most Dash Cam can regular record for only 20 minutes in top.

Keep in mind that Motion Detection is on as you want to record if there's someone or some cars pass by. So once it detect a vehicle, a human or an animal, it will turn back to regular recording mode, that means regular power consumption. And then it will keep recording for another 20~30 seconds even after it cannot detect anything.

So after parking, no Dash Cam can work for a very long time without a Hardwire Kit.
