well folks it's run hey welcome back to my series of residential network cabling videos on wiring the home properly and in this one's part 7 which is telephone basics so let's get right to work here and talk about basic phone systems and folks I'm talking about basic older analog phone systems that we really install about everywhere in the United States and still a lot of us use it although seems like more and more of us have fewer and fewer landlines and the sad thing about that is you know those old landlines one great thing about them is the power goes out in the neighborhood those aren't things are still working and we call those old phone systems public switched telephone networks or you know older guys will call them pots lines or plain old telephone service so it's just some older technology but it's been around forever and really old phone systems really predate you know transis
