welcome to 3ci training videos my name is Ron Shaw and this is going to be a short video on how to do the basic configurations of a pic Cisco pix firewall now first let's begin with our topology now as you can see here this is we our pics firewall that we're going to be configuring by the way it's a Cisco 515 our pix firewall now on the outside I'm using the 192 168 1 0 with a cider notation of 24 which equates to 255 255 255 0 now typically this area here would be a prime excuse me a public IP address also note that the interface IP address is going to be a 254 address here for the host ID and a dot 1 for the host ID here on the router for the ISP now on the inside I'm using the 10.00 network with a cider notation of 24 and my inside interface is going to have a IP address of 1000 that one now in later videos I'll talk about how to configure these devices to allow individuals from the
