so is a monster hdmi cable worth it is it worth that hefty price tag gold-plated 4k i'd say most professionals agree you're not gonna see or hear the difference of a high-end plug like this now the gold plating is nice looking now if you kept your tv outside maybe would help a little bit more now the gold plate's not going to hurt anything now as far as 2k versus 4k unless you need a really long cable like from upstairs to downstairs you're not going to be able to tell a difference now if you can buy a monster hdmi cable at a discount store if it's the same price as a normal cable give it a try if you compare it side by side to your other cables you'll see there's no difference now with the gold plating there may be a placebo effect you might think that this cable sounds better have somebody else switch out the cable while you close your eyes and listen if you can hear a difference or s
