Aiwa HSTX481 AM/FM Radio Cassette Player with Digital Tuning

today we get to work on an iowa 1-bit dual da converter it's a model cxna 30 built in december of 1997. and it's a boombox style three disc changer my neighbor claims that the radio works but it won't play cds let's do a quick diagnostic the tape deck seems to work okay and it produces fairly high quality audio what about the cds huh it rotates fine but unable to read the disc michael bolton maybe it has better audio taste than its owner in either case let's bring it down to the bench start by loosening the two phillips screws in back with the top off let's remove the two phillips screws holding the cd shell third we can go ahead and use a torx t15 to loosen the rotary screw huh wait a minute here as i lean over i'm hit with an immediate whiff of cigarette smoke in the same way smoke can stain restaurant ceilings i wonder if over a couple decades it can also cloud compact disk lasers we
