okay now this automatic transmission the 8l90 has an offset hydraulic pump driven by a chain through a sprocket that's driven by the hub at the torque converter now this is not the pump all this is is an aluminum cover so i'm going to go ahead and remove these corresponding 10 millimeter fasteners and there are two threaded holes that i'll gently use a slide hammer and pull this off okay now here what we're doing is we're removing i'm going to call it a sprocket cover because it's certainly not a pump cover that pump is mounted to the valve body driven by a chain but i can call this the sprocket cover is that there is a big o ring that provides the seal between the case and the cover and that's a little stiff and they have these threaded ports for you to use these slide hammers and these are specifically for this is made by street side tools okay a couple of slaps with a slide hammer an
