hi I'm Doug Patt and this is drafting tools 101 where we take a look at many of the tools I use when drawing and drafting in this episode we're going to talk about the importance of using a straightedge drafting is about precision and it's important that your drawings communicate clearly in order to do that if you're going to draw by hand they need to be clean and precise and one of the most important tools for this is a straightedge tools that provide this edge will give you a higher quality drawing plus save time and frustration to draw straight lines the tools I find myself using most are parallel rule and adjustable triangle the parallel rule gives you a wide area to work and keeps every line straight horizontal and parallel remember consistency and precision are the goals now for vertical lines I set the triangle on top of the parallel rule together these tools work great now all m
