essentially there are three ways that you can connect electrical power to your track you can use a canopy connector which allows you to feed the power to the track anywhere along the length of the track using this then the canopy covers it up you can use a live end connector which feeds into the end of the track press it in securely and you can use a BX type of live end which is for surface mounting so in this case the wire comes through the ceiling into the back of the live end the BX connector comes in from the end using a conduit or BX connection so if you have a solid ceiling and you can't come through from the ceiling then you're going to use a BX or conduit connector so two different kinds of live ends and the canopy connector the other option is of course to use an inline connector which allows you to join two pieces of track together so if if your other track has a power feed or
