API 5500

hi and welcome to doctor mix today we're very proud of demonstrating the API 5500 dual equalizer this is yet another plastic piece of engineering its design is derived from the API console it's the weapon of choice for kick drum snare drum drum buss and mix bus for so many engineers it's got a very famous sound and that's what I'm about to show you just a quick run through the panel this is a duel equalizer so you have a left section in the right section which are perfectly identical there are four bands low low mids high mids and high you can choose shelving for the low and the highest we will begin without shelving and then you can decide to have the circuitry of each channel either in or out this particular control here gives you instead of 2 4 6 DBS increase it gives you half of it or a quarter of it which means this can be used easily for mastering let's try it on drums top-end 20k
