I got this idea from my brother-in-law to put a 50 caliber maxi ball inside a 20-gauge wad and shoot it as a shotgun slug now this wad it's a clay Buster's version of a Winchester it max ball is a bit loose but instead if I use a Remington SP 21 it's a little bit tighter and the reason is there are these stiffeners for the wad pedals inside and they take up a little bit of space that's just enough to make a tighter fit for the maxi ball before you start loading this combination of a 50 caliber maxi ball in a 20 gauge wad be sure and push it through the barrel of your shotgun with your cleaning rod to see how tight it is mine doesn't seem that tight and also you should be using soft lead to cast maxi ball I went to the Alliant powder website and chose a 1 ounce lead shot load knowing that the 50 caliber maxi ball weighs less than one ounce the low uses remington cases remington 209 prime
