hi welcome back to the breadboard had lots of my viewers over the years asking about have an old laptop it's broken the screen I think still works can I use it for my Raspberry Pi and the answer for me up until recently has been well no not really not without a lot of effort and messing around but a little while ago I came across some boats on Vanguard you can get them in various places mine I bought from banggood that will allow you to connect a LCD panel and you can see I've got one two three four five six different panels here they're all actually different makes and models different manufacturers and these are all from old laptops or at least the one two three four five of them are from an old laptop this one is from an old industrial PLC prototype screen HMI that I had and it just went completely blank for no known reason I have it quite well stripped down right now and we'll go in
