it's so easy to use fraction tiles in your classroom to teach many different fractional concepts a couple of the ways that I like to use them is to have a students compare in order fractions I can pull 1/2 1/4 a 6 and an 8 and ask the kids which is greatest which is smallest it's clear that the 1/2 is the largest and the 8th is the smallest just by looking at the fractions you can also have the kids right number sentences with the fractions you can take your 4th and your 8th and you can ask them to write a number sentence 1/4 is greater than 1/8 it's a nice visual that's easy for the kids to manipulate and see the differences right off the bat another cool way that you can use the fraction tiles is to have the students solve word problems for example Mary and John shared one whole banana Mary a 1/3 of the banana John ate 1/6 of the banana who ate more of the banana clearly Mary ate more
