these are the Orion astronomy twenty by eighty binoculars as the name implies they're primarily for sky watchers but you can use them for certain select terrestrial kinds of applications you'll notice that they have a center focusing knob that's unusual in an astronomy binocular this large big binoculars like these generally focus the eyepieces individually you'll notice that there's this nice keel that runs down the center from the objectives up front back to that central focusing point it forms obviously the place where you would mount these on a tripod which we strongly encourage you to do at four and three-quarter pounds they are one hefty handful of binocular but you can handhold them for at least a few minutes and in fact these are the big brothers to two other smaller orion astronomy binoculars there are 20 by 70 s and 15 by 70 s and perhaps those would be better if you're lookin
