Boat VHF Radio Antenna Ratchet Base - Rail / Clamp-On Mount - Marine 316 Stainless Steel

all right today's project is to solder the antenna connector vhf i'm going to show you how to do that very easy with a soldering gun first of all when i came here to inspect the wiring it was not connected properly uh the reason it wasn't connected properly here is this stainless steel match needs to be welded right through these little holes and it wasn't done so i did not have a good connection and i believe this was done at the dealer when i purchased the boat and another thing is this cables here should not be winded when you wind the antenna cable you lose frequency right so this was incorrectly installed at the dealer and we're going to correct that today so we can get a better reading on my radio all right so yes this definitely all this winding does not help the reading of the antenna you always want to leave a little bit extra cable but not that much that you have this big wind
