in this video we're going to load a ribbon into the data max one'll be class mark 3 printer you need a ribbon if you're going to print in thermal transfer mode first thing you need to know about the ribbon is whether it was rolled with the coated side out as the printing side have ink side or the coated side in this particular ribbon is coated side out the surface is more matte and the inside non coated side is glossy you could verify this by scratching the surface and you can see clearly that the ink has come off open the printer releasing the latch one on each side at the top there is a release button the green release button which will let you lower the printhead mechanism you need to feed one of these empty rolls into the take-up spool then making sure that the coated side is out you have to attach the ribbon to the take-up spool this is the printhead you don't want the ink to go di
