hey there this is Rick I hope you're having a great day in today's video I'm going to be assembling my telescope and hopefully we're going to be getting it to work for the first time okay so this is the telescope this is the Explorer scientific ar-15 - and it is a six-inch refractor telescope and it's pretty heavy so I'm going to put it down now one of the reasons I went for a a refractor telescope as opposed to any other type is because well this particular model has really good write-ups on the quality of the image that it can produce but secondly you can use a refractor telescope as long as you've got a suitable base you can use a refractor telescope for astrophotography so I sort of thinking I'm killing two birds with one stone now there are going to be experts out there who are probably telling me I'm doing it wrong and that's okay I'm literally I am coming at this from a beginner'
