Brother Tze-231 Labelling Tape Black on White - 4 Packing Retail Packing

here's an aggravation at work we have these brother label printers it work okay this one here is a PT 2030 and it does a nice job prints okay however an annoying problem here is that if I print a single label it puts an inch of wasted tape at the beginning of what I print and at the end of everything that I print and I have not found a way to turn off this wasted tape this has no purpose that I can figure out I usually end up trimming the tape and chopping it off so to get rid of this excess I cannot find anything in the settings to prevent this from appearing on every piece of tape it's basically wasting two inches of the reel for every label that you print I did find a partial solution of my own for dealing with this if I'm going to be printing out a whole bunch of consecutive labels then I just simply enter them all one after another on the display and then when I actually print them
