hello and welcome to show me cables today we're going to be taking a look at modular plugs modular plugs are used in many different voice data and control signals and are available in a variety of styles for today's purposes we will be taking a look at our J 22 rj11 our day 12 and rj45 s RK 22 is the smallest of the modular plugs and is mostly used on handset cords it is known as 4p 4c which means that it has four positions and four contacts the rj11 is slightly larger than the rj 22 and is found on line cords this is typically used for telephone wall plates and control signals it is known as 6p 4c which means that has six positions and four contacts the RJ 12 is the same size as an rj11 and is also found on many line cords however the RJ 12 is 6 p 6e meaning that it has 6 positions and 6 contacts our day 12 connectors can be used in place of rj11 but RJ 11 may or may not work for an AR
