hi everyone my name's Chris and this time I've got a copy of the canon 100 millimeter F 2.8 usm macro lens I've always wanted to play with a real macro lens so I've actually had great fun testing this thing out the lens is a little bigger and fatter than I imagined it would be it's one of canons older lenses now but the build quality is still pretty solid there's no image stabilization on this lens but at about 350 pounds it's good value this kind of lens has been popular for decades not just because it's good for close-up macro work but because it's a great focal length for portrait photography and the white f 2.8 aperture gives a nice narrow depth of field as you can see here manual focusing is fairly smooth and slightly damped but as you can see in this footage the travel on the focus ring isn't incredibly long so macro focusing can sometimes be tricky this lens has full time manual
