the ceramic insulation works exactly as advertised i used it to isolate the heat transfer from a turbocharger on a tractor that was melting the paint on the hood there was only three stroke four space between the turbo and the hood i laid the blanket on the side next to the hood and used stainless steel hose clamps to hold it in place the turbo temperature went up to 975 degrees and with the ceramic insulation the outside of the blanket was 105 degrees truly could not be happier i built a wooden smoke house the firebox is just below the wood about half an inch i got this to separate the firebox from the box so that it doesn't overheat my smokehouse this does great i tested it out and while the top of the smokehouse was at 600 degrees the top of the blanket was only 200 degrees well worth the money i built a wooden smokehouse the firebox is just below the wood about half an inch i got th
