what's going on everyone this is Dustin Stelzer with electrician u and today we're going to talk about conduit fill [Laughter] [Music] so what is the deal with conduit fill why do we even need to have a conversation about it well a it's because a lot of people don't know how many conductors they can stick in a piece of conduit and I'm just scramming as many in there as they can that's not to code and then in doing so they end up damaging the insulation around the conductors as they're pulling them in so the whole reason that the conduit fill tables are in the code is to protect the conductor so that we don't damage the insulation now there are some people out there that will argue that the reason that we only put a certain amount of conductors into a certain sized conduit is that we need to allow air over those conductors to dissipate heat I personally do not subscribe to that argument
