Digi International announces its newest update to the highly popular XBee module family, the XBee ZigBee S2C module. Utilizing Silicon Lab's EM357 transceiver in place of the EM250 transceiver, this new XBee module is faster, has more RAM and flash, all while reducing power consumption. This performance boost increases the mesh capabilities by allowing more child nodes, more network traffic, and more complex code. For greater flexibility, these modules come in both through hole and surface mount versions and their sub one microamp sleep current means they will work within the tightest power budgets.
