Dual Control Training Scissors with 1" Rounded Tip Blades The Dual Control Training Scissors were developed, under consultation with Occupational Therapists, to assist the child with reduced grip strength, visual perceptual difficulties or tremor. The double loops on each handle allow a teacher and child to simultaneously complete the cutting action. The child uses the loops furthest from the blade, while the teacher uses the other loops to assist with any necessary control, force or guidance. Dual Control Training Scissors are ideal for use with children to help in learning the opening and closing action of scissor skills. Other blade styles of Easi-Grip Dual Control Scissors Color coded handles easily identify whether for right hand (BLUE), for left hand (GREEN) Indications for Dual Control Training Scissors: Child has poor visual motor co-ordination Child lacks the strength to complete a cutting action Child has a tremor and cannot place the scissors at a given starting point Child has poor background / foreground differentiation How to Use Dual Control Training Scissors: The child places his/her fingers through the loops furthest from the blade, whilst the adult places their fingers over the child s hand and through the loops nearest the blade to assist with placement, guidance and strength for the cutting action.
