for those of you who are struggling just cannot go to sleep at night on whether to buy the hfg 30 or the x820 in this video i'm going to talk about the differences that i see and the reason why i chose the hfg over the xa20 the only differences between the x hf g30 and the xa20 is the xlr handle and the ir mode which is infrared beyond that they're identical unless you go to the x825 that has the sdi uh output do you need xlr inputs that's what it comes down to do you want to spend the extra three to four hundred dollars for that handle and um infrared and xlr that that's it this is the xa10 that i got and i love it i use the x xlr it's very useful but it's not entirely necessary for a lot of what i'm shooting now i don't need xlr inputs i don't need phantom power so i bought something like the beachtek mcc-2 this just takes mini jacks it splits out uh two channels onto the stereo track
