using the interactive pens the BrightLink interactive projector comes with two interactive pens each pen uses one double-a sized battery the compartment for the pen is located on the side simply press on the tab while pulling outward on the cover and it will open exposing the battery compartment following the direction located inside the compartment place one double-a battery inside the pen then replace the battery cover once you have installed the battery the pen will power on automatically you can verify the power to the battery by pressing the button located on the side of the pen in doing so the green LED light will come on indicating that the battery is good there is no on/off switch for the pen the pen will go into a power saving mode after 20 seconds of inactivity they will shut off automatically after 20 minutes of inactivity in order to preserve the battery the pen will turn ba
