hey everybody if lawn Simon and it's time for another retro video on the channel we haven't done one of these in a while and every once in a while I do like to take a look at old technology and see how it might influence what we do today and there is no topic more relevant to that theme than computer bulletin board systems or BBS systems and I ran one way back in the early 90s where I took my old Apple 2 GSI hooked up a modem to it and these are modems not connecting to DSL or cable or any other kind of modern technology but to a standard analog phone line and once that computer was connected and running what is essentially BBS server software people could call into my computer from their computers over a phone line and do things like send email to each other participate in message boards play games share files pretty much everything we do today on social media people were doing with ol
