Description
EZ ETCH by Concrete Coatings is a citric acid-based concrete and masonry etcher and cleaner. EZ ETCH is the ideal surface preparation for staining concrete. Use with ELEVATE water-based stain and IMAGIN acid-based stains. MIXING Step 1: Using two gallons (7.58 liters) of clean water in a 5-gallon pail, add the entire contents of EZ ETCH and stir mixture for 5-10 seconds. Step 2: Pour the mixed solution into a plastic sprinkling can. APPLICATION Best results occur when you work in 100 sq. ft. areas (10x 10 feet / 3x3 meters) and complete the process listed below, before moving to the next section. Step 1: Keep the concrete surface damp with water, with no standing puddles. Step 2: Begin pouring the solution onto the damp concrete surface. Step 3: Using a stiff bristle broom, begin scrubbing the floor. Give extra attention to high traffic areas (feet or tires). Do not allow the floor to dry during the scrubbing process. Step 4: Rinse thoroughly while continuing to scrub, ensuring all contaminants are washed away. Step 5: Squeegee off all puddles and excess water. Allow to dry thoroughly. Step 6: Repeat above steps on all areas needed to be etched. Step 7: Once all areas have been etched, rinsed, and allowed to dry, check the dried concrete for surface residue. Using your hand, rub the concrete surface. If a white residue is left on your hands, additional rinsing is required. Rinse the floor and scrub during the entire rinsing. Step 8: When the concrete is free of surface residue and completely dry, you are ready to begin your application of stain, sealer or coating.
