The binocular is also extremely rugged, with a waterproof and shockproof rubber armor construction that holds up to heavy use. Finally, the Sortie is nitrogen purged, helping the lenses guard against fogging on moist days. Other features include an illuminated compass, a range-estimating reticle, retractable eye cups, and a tripod mounting thread.
