Garmin 18x PC GPS Navigator Unit

hello Jessie here at GPS city I have the GPS 18x PC by Garmin this is a great William sensor for use with your laptop or other project that you may be making so I'm going to show you the unit and what's in the box so we have the unit here it's got a serial rs-232 db9 connector right here this will plug into most older laptops a lot of newer laptops don't have these this serial port so you may want to use the USB version which is available because the unit cannot draw power from the serial port it does have a separate cigarette lighter attachment to power the unit up the gps 18x uses 5 volts so there is some special circuitry in here that converts the 12 volts down to 5 volts for you automatically read the documentation any other specifications will be noted there on the bottom of the unit we have a mounting hole there is this base is magnetic so it could go to a metal surface but if you
