[Music] this is a lighting wattage comparison it's designed to show you the energy usage of different types of light bulbs I'm going to start with the older type of incandescent we don't see many of these anymore but this particular light is 60 watts and it puts out 600 lumens of light that means brightness so the more lumens the brighter the light so I'm going to move up to the top now with compact fluorescents and LEDs I'll turn on one compact fluorescent and you'll see that it's using less than 13 watts now this is the same light output 600 lumens 600 lumens yet 13 watts compared to 55 obviously a good energy choice I can even turn on a second compact fluorescent twice the light output so now we have 1200 lumens compared to 600 lumens but yet our energy usage is still about half of this bulb down here now I'll move to the LED the LEDs are the newer energy-efficient choice so when you
