I was really hoping my guitar hero controller wasn't dead because they're getting harder to find and quite expensive on these market turns out it was just the breakaway cable and this replacement worked perfectly and now I have a spare as well does exactly as described no complaints both worked great with a solid connection these dongles are for the 360 not the original Xbox however if you shave the inside to fit the Xbox breakaway they do work and there are signed windows drivers for the Xbox controller this will also work for third-party controllers dance pads instruments etc dusted off my old xbox 360 Guitar Hero and couldn't find the dongle this worked perfect and came with a spare bought this for a game called Guitar Smith when I bought my used game it was missing the breakaway cable at first I thought I would have to buy a whole new cable then I found out about this I didn't need
