if you need an alternative method to mount your GoPro in a tight space like behind the rear view mirror as a dashcam you can do it i did here which is to mount the plate of a quick release you to the side of the gopro i'm using a velbon qra 3 system you'll need to remove the quarter inch screw from the quick release plate you can do that by prying this collar off you'll also need to remove the rubber friction pad that should peel right off but it might leave a bit of a residue you do need to get rid of that residue so that we can get a nice good adhesion using this double sided sticky tape cut a piece of sticky tape place it on the plate that you just cleaned up peel the backing off of that double sided sticky tape and press the release plate to the side of your GoPro now to make doubly sure that that release plate adheres properly I stick my camera in a clamp like this put just slightl
