Effective. Delicious. Convenient. How did you come up with the idea for this product? We understood that many human health issues are related to bacterial colonization, or lack thereof, in the human gastrointestinal tract. And we were disappointed that of all the products on the market, few provided human-commensurate bacteria in a format that emulated nature and ensured consumption of live probiotics. What makes your product special? In addition to our uniquely-formulated blends, key points of differentiation are our patented packaging and delivery format to ensure consumption of live probiotics with necessary prebiotics. Putting “probiotics” on a label does not benefit consumers unless they receive live probiotics when they consume the product. Unfortunately, what many are calling probiotics are spores (e.g., Bacillus coagulans) that, per the American Society for Microbiology, “…are not considered normal members of the intestinal flora and do not persist in the [human] gastrointestinal tract.” What has been the best part of your startup experience? Educating and informing consumers, practitioners, retailers and others about the microbiome and probiotics. It is so gratifying to hear from consumers about the impact GOLIVE has had on them or their loved ones.
