Chicken Pot Pie - Decal

[Music] hello this is chef john from foodwishes.com with chicken pan pie that's right we're going to make chicken pot pie in a pan which is usually just still called chicken pot pie but it shouldn't be since it really is a completely different far superior species of chicken pot pie with a much higher crust to filling ratio and the filling that that buttery flaky crust is going to be fused to is going to be even more savory and deeply delicious so we're going to call it what it really is chicken pan pie and to get started what we'll do is melt some butter over medium-high heat into which we will toss our diced onion and of course a nice big pinch of salt and what we'll do is cook these onions stirring for a couple minutes or until the edges begin to brown and the pieces start to soften and turn translucent and yes in case you're wondering that is a lot of butter right we don't need that
