Hewlett Packard Jetdirect 300X Enet External 10/100 Single Port Rj45

hi my name is Joseph Osby I'm a self-employed computer consultant based in paignton in Torbay in the UK and today I'm going to have a look at this which is a HP jetdirect the X print server it's quite an old device but it's quite a bulletproof device and it goes in quite well with the LaserJet 4l that you can see I've got set up here with it they're both sort of 15 or 20 years old probably now but they do work still very well and very well together the problem with these devices the jet jet direct print server this one particularly is that it talks bootp it needs bootp to set up its IP address and not DHCP which is what most modern systems use and therefore what most modern rooters used to doled out IP addresses this thing can't talk DHCP so it has to make its request for an IP address by a bootp so basically as you can see I've got this set up with a connection to the network the power
