[Applause] [Music] hi I'm John communiques Glasson today we're going to look at the differences in SSDs that we've seen over the last five years what was cool about them how they were used and what the general differences are and how to physically tell them apart so as the seeds have been around for a long time Intel started out with flash drives and have flash retention module first things were put on boards for compact flash cards etc the first real module we've seen since then after the compact flash was IDE interface and that's an old 40 pin interface this here is made by transcend it's a one gig so actually compact flash map directly to the ISO bus of IDE and the 40 pin interface so you could buy adapters would go from IDE to compact flash storage as things came around the first real renaissance was the two-and-a-half inch SSD drive this here came out in about 2009 and hit the mark
