The latter option is particularly handy for listening to music in the garden while the kids watch TV in the living room, for instance. You can also combine the volume controls with a speaker selector (such as the JobSite S-4 or S-6) to enjoy central control of all the speakers in the house.

Installation is relatively straightforward, though it does require two runs of dual-conductor 14- to 18-gauge speaker wire or one run of four-conductor wire through the walls. Also along for the ride is a pair of snap and lock connectors, which secure the wire in place without the use of a screwdriver.
