in this video I will show you how to properly punch down a wall plate network jack first place the jack on one of these hand holders then strip and straighten your wire [Music] if you would like to know more about this technique please see my video on how they're stripped at six the easy way [Music] next you will want to lay the wire down according to the color code in this example blue goes to the top right with the stripe on the outside the orange on the left with the stripe on the outside brown on the bottom left the solid on the outside and green on the right with solid on the outside I rotated it a bit that this is how it should look [Music] grab your punch down tool make sure the cutting edge links to the outside [Music] I like to punch down in diagonals [Music] this is how it should look when finished next you can put the plastic cover on if it comes form you're all done all you
