This impressive looking unusual radio/cassette model offered a good range of features, such as auto reverse, full logic operation, Dolby B NR, "mega bass" and an AM/FM stereo radio with a digital display and the ability to store pre-tuned programs. By removing the manually tuned radio from the side of the cassette compartment and instead fitting a digitally tuned receiver in the cassette lid, a more versatile and generally more desirable machine resulted. The cassette section is fantastic . The extra function of note was that the LCD readout for the radio displayed the word "tape" while the mechanism was running. The radio was quite comprehensive, and offered 5 pre-tuned radio programmes on AM and FM. When not in use, the radio display showed the time, but there were no alarm facilities. The radio could receive FM broadcasts in stereo where available, and instead of the traditional LED indicator lamp, the word "stereo" appeared in the display if this was the case. As, a memory backup reserve was maintained so that the station settings and time were not lost during battery replacement. The digitally tuned radio made and it was supplied with better headphones than came with.
